Student Exchange 2018 Kanepi-Werther In 2018 was our student exchange between Kanepi and Werther. I think it was a good experience to make this exchange because I’ve never done a student exchange before. It was better than I expected because my exchange student and his family were very nice to me and they take care of me. But I think the weather was too cold for us, because in Germany it isn’t so cold like in Kanepi (Estonia). The activities that we made outside weren’t so good for me because the snow was too much, but I think it was a good experience to see a country, in which the weather isn’t so good. To sum up I’ve learned very much about the culture in Estonia and the life of Estonian people. The school is very nice, because there are very kind teachers and students. They talked to us like we were their friends. The excursion to Tallinn was one of the best parts in our exchange, because it’s the capital city and it is much bigger than Kanepi. In Tallinn we were in a orch...

Student Exchange Werther-Kanepi 2018 This year the culture student exchange was between Werther and Kanepi. In December 2017 the Estonian came to us in Germany. We visited them back in March and really looked forward to meet my exchange again, but anyway I was a little bit scared too, because I did not really know what will expect me there. The journey to Kanepi was very long and hard, but it was worth coming here. At the first moment we all were surprised by the weather, because in Germany we normally do not have the possibility to see so much snow and ice. In my opinion Estonia looks like a “Winterwonderland “   .My exchange students were both really kind an lovely, but I was a bit surprised, because they and some other students were really shy and they had to warm up a bit. AT the beginning that was a bit hard, but it changed quickly. Anyway it is obvious that Estonian people are very hospitable and they really cared about me so I really felt to be well received. I not...

Student Exchange Kanepi-Werther 2018 I was very excited when travelling to Estonia, and I can definitely say that I have acquired tons of experience and knowledge during my time in the country.   First of all: The school in Kanepi. It is highly modernized and digitalized and in these aspects it is far superior to the school in Werther. The school in Kanepi is smaller in terms of the number of students visiting it, which leads to a situation where a single person has much more space, which makes the whole school seem larger. I also appreciate the architecture in the villages, towns and cities of Estonia. In Tallinn it is the most obvious that a medieval building style survived throughout the centuries. But most importantly: The people. I have met a lot of friendly and interesting folks and I am happy to be able to have been with such nice persons. We also did a ton of activities, my personal highlights would have to be the Volleyball match, the Naval Museum in Tallinn,...

Student Exchange Werther-Kanepi 2018 The exchange was very interesting because the weather is so different to Germany but it is quite nice with the snow and ice. The School here is very small but nice like the students and a nice variety to our German school . First I expected that it is way colder than in Germany but it was just a few degrees colder. I also expected that the houses in Estonia are not that good like in Germany but there is no big difference. I was a bit scared, because I didn´t know how the people here think. We went with a plane to the Riga airport and came with a bus to Kanepi Gymnasium.   On the Bus we saw that Estonia looks very beautiful with this much snow and the big forests. It was very different that in Estonia is way more nature. I mean more big lakes and Forests. The coldness in Estonia is a bit different to the coldness in Germany. In Germany is it only a bit cold but very windy. In Estonia is the temperature way lower but there is no wind. So I...

Student Exchange Werther-Kanepi 2018 This Exchange was the first time I visited Estonia. I did not know much about Estonia and   the people living there. Before I went here I was not sure how it is in Estonia and if I would like it. During the exchange I learned much about the country of Estonia, the culture, the people and traditions. Even if the people from Estonia are a little bit quiet, they are very friendly, hospitable and I got along with them well. In Estonia everything is a little bit smaller, for example the capital Tallinn we also visited for one day. Through the activities we often went outside and saw the wonderful nature of Estonia, especially the many forests where we went hiking and did teambuilding games. To my mind the nature is very beautiful and I really liked the trips. When we were in the lessons at school, I learned in which way the school here is different to Germany. For example it is smaller like many things here. I think it was a good decision t...
