Our Student Exchange; Kanepi- Werther
After
a long and tiring journey we finally arrived in Kanepi. I already have been
here before so I was not that excited about the culture. I was very curious to
get to know my new host family and their house.
The house is wooden and very comfortable and
located on the country side. I ate a bit and went straight to sleep, because
the journey was very exhausting.
The
first day of school was very great. We played a few games to get to know each
other better, which was a lot of fun. It
was also funny to see, that the classes here are so small. The lunch in school
was very tasty and after eating we walked to a forest to solve some tasks in a
team. It was very cold, but all in all it was a lot of fun!
The
weekend was amazing too. On Saturday morning we met in school and a man showed
us his snakes. I already had contact to snakes before so I was not scared to
touch them, but many of the other students were. It was a great experience to
have one of them around your neck and to take photos with it. After that we my
host family and me went to Estonia´s highest mountain (actually it was more of
hill) and „climbed“ it. The view from
there was very great and I took a few photos to send them to my parents. After
that we went to a café to eat something.
On
Sunday we went to Tartu. First we visited an art exhibition, which was very
interesting, because it differs a lot to the German ones and there were some
paintings made by my host mother as well . After ice skating in a huge shopping
centre and shopping there, we went to an attraction called ,,escape room”. It
was very funny to solve all the riddles there, but we could not finish to solve
all of them to escape.
On
Monday we had a volleyball game and the Germans won. It was very exciting to play and I was scared
to make mistakes. In the evening we went to Kanepi`s culture house and after
dancing typical Estonian dances we have had a little disco there. After that I
took a shower and slept because I was very tired.
We
had a great hike on Tuesday but it was kind of dangerous because the paths were
very slippery.
On
Wednesday we went to the capital of Estonia; Tallinn. After going to a museum
we had a guided tour around the old town, which was very cold, but very great.
In our freetime we went eating and exploring the little souvenir shops in
Tallinn. In the evening we have had a concert by the prime orchestra. It was
incredible! At first I expected classical music, but they chose modern and cool
songs, so I really enjoyed listening to it.
To
conclude we have had an amazing time here and all of us enjoyed it. I am going
to miss Estonia but I am also looking forward to seeing my family again.
Thank
you for the great time here! Aitäh!
