Students´ exchange- by Laur

From 6th of December to 13th December I took part in the Estonia - Germany  exchange student programme.

I had with me about twenty other Estonians, who wanted to go to Germany. Our journey started from our way to Tallinn. We flew from Riga to Frankfurt and from there to Paderborn. We finally arrived to Werther at noon. When we arrived to school, all of our exchange students were waiting for us next to the school.

My exchange student was a girl, her name was Carina. She lived in the town of Werther with her mother and a dog. They had quite a big  and a beautiful house. I was given her room, while she slept in the next room. It was obvious that she liked horses, her room was full of pictures of horses and horse riding awards.

Every day after school or some kind of excursion, depending on the day, we had to go and visit the horses. The stables with the horses were about 10 km from the house. She had 2 horses, their names were Hippie and Max. Hippie was a girl, while Max was a boy. Each time when we arrived, we had to clean the stable and brush the horses. After cleaning, the horses were ready for training and riding.

Although, I am not a very big horse fan, I still enjoyed riding on one. I got to ride with Max, at first in the training hall, where I learned a little bit how to ride and navigate with a horse. Afterwards I even got to ride with Max in the nature. I really enjoyed it and since it also had snowed in the recent days, so it made the experience that much more beautiful and special.

During our time in Germany we got to visit a lot of cool and unique places. We got to visit cities like Bielefeld, Wolfsburg and Werther itself. We had a tour in the Wolfsburg Volkswagen factory and saw some of the cars of the exhibition. In Werther and in Bielefeld, we had a city tour. Afterwards in all the cities we could enjoy the Christmas market, where we tried all kinds of foods and drinks.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time in Germany. I met awesome people, visited unique places and got to try most of the traditional foods and drinks.
